We have a wonderful community of adult students, who meet twice a term for group lessons, where we play scales, technique and repertoire for each other. Our bi-annual themed soirees have become much anticipated social, as well as musical events. We have booked out local restaurants and cafes as well as enjoyed the intimacy of home concerts. This group is very encouraging and supportive and have become fast music friends.
My piano lesson is one of the highlights of my week, thanks to my teacher Wendy. I learn for pleasure and don’t take exams. However, understanding the theory is always helpful in accomplishing a piece. Wendy always encourages me and is always helpful in teaching me new ways of learning my chosen pieces. If I feel I am having trouble with a new piece, Wendy always has a different way of looking at it.
As an adult student, I really appreciate the need to practice, which always pays off in the long run. The group classes and soirees with other adult students is also a highlight that Wendy encourages us to participate in. It is always wonderful to share our achievements with other students in a relaxed, no pressure environment. I am really grateful to Wendy for encouraging me over the last ten years to develop my repertoire and confidence in my playing.
Thank you Wendy! – Rosie Condon
Wendy was recommended to me by a friend of my daughters. From the moment I first met Wendy I knew I had found what I’d always wanted in a piano teacher. Having learnt to play the piano many years ago, I had the advantage of being able to compare the teaching of old with her enthusiasm, encouragement, patience and most of all her love of teaching.
Wendy not only has a great love of classical music but also appreciates jazz and pop. Her studio is well located on the northside of town and is very welcoming.
Wendy’s adult classes has a range skills and ages. Wendy organises Group Classes throughout the year; the aim of these is to give her students the opportunity to feel confident about performing in public; which leads me to the “Piece de resistance”, her Soirees. Wendy organises two per year which are open to family and friends. It is an opportunity for them to be part of our musical achievements. – Gail Higson, Brisbane
Our family commenced piano lessons with Wendy at the Amandani Music Studio in 2011.
Over this period, my daughter Sara and I have increasingly developed an appreciation and love of music that makes learning the piano so fulfilling.
Wendy is an inspirational and accomplished music teacher who encourages her students to be the best they can be. Whether you are six or sixty, Wendy acknowledges the individuality of her students, and with patience and understanding helps you reach your potential.
